Anthony Boskovich
Partner
Tony Boskovich has been handling diverse general litigation matters since 1985. Tony's primary practice areas include civil rights cases for police misconduct and prisoner litigation, appellate practice, criminal defense, professional liability (medical malpractice and attorney malpractice), family law, and general mediation. As an experienced trial and appellate lawyer in State and Federal courts in a wide variety of practice areas, Tony is well known as a zealous and dedicated advocate for his clients; whether plaintiff or accused. Tony's cases are frequently covered by the media, from published appellate opinions to recently filed civil rights claims. Tony is admitted to practice in the courts of State of California, as well as the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Court for the Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California.

Prior to undertaking his career in the law, Tony worked in the commercial insurance industry, where he obtained valuable training and insight into negotiation, underwriting, and insurance coverage.

Tony attended Santa Clara University Law School; graduating third in his class Cum Laude in 1985. He became a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter in 1981. Tony was enrolled as a graduate student in the Economic Geology program at Yale University from 1974-1975, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from Williams College in 1974 with a double major in geology and chemistry.

Tony’s past and present activities have included serving as an Early Neutral Evaluator for the United States District Court, Arbitrator and Temporary Judge for the Santa Clara County Superior Court, as a Fee Arbitrator and Jail Infraction Hearing Officer for the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Tony served as a Trustee and officer (Treasurer) for the Santa Clara County Bar Association in the mid-1990's, as well as Chair of its Finance Committee, Individual Rights and Constitutional Law Committee, and its Appellate Courts Committee. Tony is most proud of his honor of serving as Chair of the Santa Clara County Bar Association's Ad Hoc Task Force on Police Conduct, which nearly 20 years ago brought representatives of every viewpoint to the table to discuss the optimal way to involve the public in the policing function in order to foster trust and cooperation between both the public and the police. Although the task force recommended that San Jose institute a Civilian Review Board, the task force's work was instrumental in convincing the San Jose City Council to establish its Independent Police Auditor. Tony has also served as President of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of Society of CPCU.

He is a member of or affiliated with the American Association for Justice, the California Public Defenders Association, the National Lawyers Guild, and the National Police Accountability Project.

Most recently, Tony spends his fun time supporting his children as a rugby and soccer dad, watching his children achieve at a high level in their chosen sports. In the end, this is his most satisfying reward.
